What is your favorite sports moment at K?
Doing Rickey-Rat at MIAAs and having all the other teams stare at us.

What is your most memorable academic experience at K?
Finishing and surviving Organic Chemistry

Why did you choose to attend Kalamazoo College?
I knew I wanted a small school where I could develop relationships with my professors, which is why I began to look at K in the beginning. Ultimately I chose K because it allowed me to continue swimming and receive a great education. Additionally, having the opportunity to compete all 4 years and still go on study abroad really set K apart from the other schools that I was looking at.

What do you enjoy most about road trips during your season?
Napping on the bus and watching absurd movies on the way to MIAAs.

What is your least favorite thing about road trips during your season?
Knowing that I should be doing homework, but I will either get car sick or just fall asleep.

What is your favorite class and why?
I have had a lot of great classes, but I think my sophomore seminar, Music and Identity, was my favorite class that I've taken so far. I really liked this class because Dr. Pixley was such a great teacher and was so passionate about the topics. This class really opened up my mind to all the different types of music and allowed me to appreciate even those that I don't normally listen to. There was also a lot of creative freedom in this class which I enjoyed.

Other than the sport you play, what other sports activity are you good at?
"Good" may be relative, but I love Olympic weightlifting and Crossfit.

Is there another game in which you dominate? (card games, lawn games, pool, darts, etc.)
I win at euchre sometimes? And I really like spikeball.

Outside of sports, what is your favorite hobby?
My family has a house on Gun Lake so I love spending time out there with my family and friends. While out there, I like to wakeboard, paddleboard,, wake surf, and nap on the dock. I also love coaching/teaching kids to swim.

What is your favorite meal in the cafeteria?
Karen's omelettes.

Who is your role model?
My mom because she is one of the hardest workers and most compassionate people I have ever met. I most definitely look up to her.

What do you enjoy most about practice?
Watching the sun rise during morning practices in the water. Also, that feeling of accomplishment that you get after finishing a hard set.

What do you like least about practice?
Getting in the water at 5:30 in the morning.

What are your plans/goals after graduation?
Right now my plan is to take a year before going to physical therapy grad school. During that year I want to get my CSCS certification and work while I apply to PT schools. Eventually my dream job would be being a resident PT at a D1 school so I could work with student athletes every day!
