What is your favorite sports moment at K?
My first meet diving from the 3m board.
What is your most memorable academic experience at K?
Doing my SIP on campus this summer has absolutely been the most memorable experience both because of the stress and the fun.
Why did you choose to attend Kalamazoo College?
I chose to attend K to dive and because of its stellar reputation in the sciences.
What do you enjoy most about road trips during your season?
The cameraderie that only comes from being with some of your best friends when you are simultaneously exhausted and hyped up for the meet ahead.
What is your least favorite thing about road trips during your season?
The inevitable lack of homework I get done despite my best intentions.
Who is your all-time favorite athlete and why?
Serena Williams because she is not only an amazing athlete, but continues to stand up for both women and minorities in sports.
What is your favorite class and why?
Cellular and Molecular Biology because it was the one class I was scared of and it turned out to be one of the best classes.
Who is your favorite professor and why?
Either Dr. Binney Girdler or Dr. Santiago Salinas because both have been incredible mentors to me throughout my time here at K and have really contributed to my love of learning.
Other than the sport you play, what other sports activity are you good at?
I played water polo in high school so I guess I would say that's my "hidden" sports talent.
Is there another game in which you dominate? (card games, lawn games, pool, darts, etc.)
I wish.
Outside of sports, what is your favorite hobby?
Reading and being with friends.
What is your favorite meal in the cafeteria?
Taco salad on Tuesday.
Who is your role model?
My mom. She is the the strongest woman I know.
What do you enjoy most about practice?
Being with my teammates and challenging myself on each dive to do better than before.
What do you like least about practice?
Early mornings.
What are your plans/goals after graduation?
I will hopefully be attending MSU next fall to get my Masters in Puublic Health before applying to medical school.
