My Summer
This summer I had an internship in College Station, at Texas A&M, researching vector-borne pathogens in DHS (Department of Homeland Security) dogs. I've enjoyed gaining experience in a field that is not directly within Chemistry - epidemiology is a new discipline for me, and it's been fun to explore. I've also been involved in multiple fieldwork trips to south Texas; this has been my first opportunity involving science not in a laboratory, which was an enjoyable experience for me. I want to pursue research after undergrad, I have previously worked in Organic Chemistry labs so this internship has given me experience outside of what I'm accustomed to, which I've enjoyed. This summer has shown me I have more options and given me more ideas of areas of science I could study during graduate school.
What's Next
I look forward to enjoying my last year at K with all my friends.. but also winning the MIAA conference in wlax this year and going an entire season without any injuries.
