During his time at Calvin, Blankespoor fulfilled numerous responsibilities including writing game recaps and producing feature stories for the college’s sports website, producing audio broadcasts of Calvin’s athletic teams and overseeing student statistic crews.

At the end of the 2011-12 and 2012-13 academic years, Blankespoor was honored with the Renner Associate SID Award. This award, named after longtime Hope sports information director Tom Renner, is given to a student who contributes to an MIAA member school’s sports information office. He holds the distinction of being the only two-time winner of the award to date.

In his spare time, Blankespoor enjoys watching athletics, being with friends and family, and bowling.
