Katie Miller
Title: Interim Co-Athletic Director - Asst. AD - Compliance / SWA / PE Chair
Phone: (269) 337-5752
Email: kmiller@kzoo.edu

Katie Miller serves as an assistant athletic director for compliance, senior woman administrator and chair of the physical education department. Prior to moving into that role full-time in June of 2023, Miller was Kalamazoo College's head women's basketball coach for 12 seasons (2011-23).

Miller came to Kalamazoo College from Westminster College (Pa.) where she was the full-time assistant women’s basketball coach for nine seasons (2002-03 to 2010-11), the most successful period in the history of the Titans’ women’s basketball program. Miller helped lead the Westminster program to a Presidents’ Athletic Conference championship in 2005 along with two trips to the NCAA III Tournament (2005 & 2007). The Titans’ 21-8 record in 2004-05 was the program’s first 20-win season, and the team’s 22-7 record in 2006-07 was the best record in school history.

Originally from Cleveland, Miller graduated from Mount Union College (Ohio) in 1998 with a bachelor’s degree in sports management. She was a four-year member of the Purple Raiders basketball team and served as a team captain in 1998. Miller helped lead Mount Union to an Ohio Athletic Conference championship in 1998 along with two NCAA III Tournament appearances, finishing second in the nation in 1996 and third in 1998.

Miller earned her master’s of education degree at Bowling Green State University in 2002. While completing that degree, Miller worked a year as a teaching and research assistant at Bowling Green and another year as a graduate assistant coach at Tiffin University. Miller also worked for a year as the teen program director at the Boys & Girls Club of Massillon, Ohio, and completed an internship as a community outreach coordinator with the Women’s Sports Foundation.

In addition to her basketball coaching duties at Westminster, Miller served as the assistant softball coach for nine seasons and helped the program to seven winning seasons and one conference championship. Miller also served as a physical education instructor specializing in fitness and wellness courses.
