Michael Trappen joined the Kalamazoo College athletic training staff in August of 2016.
Trappen came to Kalamazoo from Ashford University (Iowa) where he worked as assistant athletic trainer since 2012. He was the primary athletic trainer for the Saints' women's and men's soccer, men's basketball, baseball, women's and men's golf, and women's and men's bowling teams. Trappen also shared coverage of volleyball, women's basketball, softball, and men's and women's track and field. While at Ashford, Trappen was named the 2013-14 Association of Independent Institutions (A.I.I.) athletic trainer of the year.
Trappen earned his bachelor's degree in athletic training at the University of Northern Iowa and his master's in athletic training at West Virginia University. He is a member of the National Athletic Trainers Association and M1 Graston Technique certified and National Academy of Sports Medicine Corrective Exercise Specialist certified.
