Baseball receives votes in national poll

KALAMAZOO, Mich. – For the second consecutive year, the Kalamazoo College baseball team is receiving national attention heading into the upcoming season.

In a release from Collegiate Baseball on Dec. 20, 2017, the Hornets received votes in the publication's 2018 NCAA Division III national poll. The Hornets are one of two MIAA programs to earn preseason recognition.

This is the second consecutive year the Hornets appeared in the Collegiate Baseball preseason poll.

Kalamazoo is coming off its best season in school history after setting school records for overall wins (31-14) and MIAA wins (20-8). The Hornets finished second in the MIAA for the first time since 1990.

The 2018 season is scheduled to begin with a series at Oglethorpe University (Ga.) March 4-5.
