Baseball falls at Earlham

RICHMOND, Ind. - The Kalamazoo College baseball team lost 5-3 and 8-4 at undefeated Earlham College (10-0) on Saturday.

In the opener Kalamazoo scored a run in the first and another in the third to take a 2-0 lead. Earlham evened the score in the fourth led 5-2 after seven innings. Kalamazoo scored in the top of the ninth and had runners on first and third when the game ended.

Each team had eight hits in the game.

Josh Reuter led the Hornets with three hits. Drew Novetsky and Zach Prystash each had a double.

Kalamazoo took a 1-0 lead in the second game as well before Earlham scored five runs in the second and led 8-2 after four innings. Kalamazoo added a run in each of the seventh and ninth innings.

Each team had seven hits in the game.

Connor Grant and Chase Coselman each had two hits for the Hornets. Josh Reuter had a double.

Kalamazoo and Earlham are scheduled to play the series finale Sunday at noon.
