Baseball Splits Home Doubleheader With Alma

KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College baseball team split a home doubleheader with Alma College on Sunday. Kalamazoo won the opener 11-0 before dropping the series finale 8-7.

Game One

Kalamazoo won the opener 11-0. Kalamzoo scored one in the first, seven in the second, two in the fourth, and one in the sixth.

Blake Bean was 3-for-4 with two doubles, a home run, and three RBIs.

Chase Coselman was 3-for-3 with two doubles and an RBI. Harrison Poeszat was 3-for-4 with a double and three RBIs.

Doug Propson had two hits including a double.

Jack Brockhaus struck out four while allowing just four hits in the shutout.

Game Two

Kalamazoo scored three runs in the bottom of the first but saw the game tied 4-4 after four innings. The Hornets regained the lead with three runs in the fifth before Alma responded with four runs in the top of the sixth. Kalamazoo had the tying run on base in the bottom of the sixth and seventh innings but could not score.

Alma had 11 hits compared to nine by Kalamazoo.

Spencer Baldwin was 3-for-3 with two doubles and an RBI.

Doug Propson had two hits including a double. Harrison Poeszat had one hit with three RBIs. Noah Hecht had a double.
