KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College baseball team was defeated by Hope in a nonconference game on Tuesday afternoon by a final score of 16-5.

The Hornets went up 2-0 after two innings with an RBI single from Austin Duff and extra bases on a Hope throwing error. The next four innings went to the Dutch, however, as they scored several unanswered runs to make it 11-2.

Kalamazoo made its final scoring effort in the bottom of the seventh when three Hornet batters batted in runs. Ryan Morgan tripled to right-center to score Jake Margolick, on base from a single up the middle. Cooper Mills doubled to score Morgan and Brendan Gausselin came up with a single out to left-center to bring in Mills.

The home team had 13 hits compared to 17 by Hope. 11 different Kalamazoo players had hits in the contest, with Mills and Margolick being the only batters with two hits each.
