The Kalamazoo College baseball honored its five seniors between games of a doubleheader on Saturday, May 8. Following is what was read during the ceremony:

Ladies and gentlemen, we would like to point your attention to the field where the Kalamazoo baseball program will conduct its annual Senior Day. Today serves as the final regular-season home date for Kalamazoo and the Hornets are proud to honor the five members who are completing their final season in the black and orange.

Please direct your attention to home plate where we will take the time to honor their legacy.

We will start first with a junior who will be graduating under Kalamazoo's 3 & 2 Engineering program.

Parker Sisovsky is from Grand Rapids, Michigan, and graduated from Grandville High School. He is joined today in the stands by his mother Sherry Florido and his sister Kaylee Sisovsky.

Parker has made 24 career appearances on the mound, with 18 of those coming as a starter. Parker has been a starting pitcher since his freshmen season and been invaluable to the pitching staff both on and off the field. In his career, Sisovsky has been in the top two for innings pitched in each of his three seasons. Parker's major is 3 & 2 Engineering, with an applied mathematics minor. He plans to finish his degree at Western Michigan University studying in their industrial and entrepreneurial engineering program.

Now we will honor the 4 members of our senior class.

Amani Karim is from Detroit, Michigan, and graduated from Brother Rice High School. He is joined today in the stands by his parents Hasan & Tonya Karim.

Playing in over 70 games in his career, Karim has become known as one of the most selfless and supportive teammates in the program. Working at second base over his four years, Amani is a career .300 hitter who has brought leadership to the infield and the offensive lineup. Karim also has been named to the MIAA Academic Honor Roll twice. He will graduate with a degree in business and plans to pursue a career in coaching.

Austin Duff is from Portage, Michigan, and graduated from Portage Central High School. He is joined today in the stands by his parents Bryan & Susan Duff, as well as his brother Andrew, sister Allie and his girlfriend Mackenzie.

Austin, like his roommate Amani, will graduate having played in over 70 games and is also a career .300 hitter in his time in the black and orange. Duff has seen time in the infield at first, second, and third base and has become known for his strong left-handed bat. He also has been named to the MIAA Academic Honor Roll twice. Austin will graduate with a degree in business and plans to pursue a career in marketing.

Chase Coselman is from Fenton, Michigan, and graduated from Fenton High School. He is joined today in the stands by his parents Bryce & Jamie Coselman, as well as his grandparents Dennis & Carol Coselman and Jim & Norma Menzing.

Chase's impact has been seen and felt since he stepped foot in the Hornets' baseball program. Playing in nearly every game of his career, Coselman will graduate with a career batting average over .360, having played in at least 115 games. During his senior season, he has been named the MIAA Position Player of the Week twice. His name would appear in higher many career records if not for the lost season last year due to COVID-19 but he still finds himself among many of the categories such as: batting average—third, doubles—fourth, triples—sixth, runs, and RBI—seventh. Beyond his impact on the field, Chase has been named MIAA Academic Honor Roll all four years, as well as being named Academic All-District in 2020. Chase will graduate with a business major and an English minor plans to pursue a career in journalism.

Brendan Gausselin is from Battle Creek, Michigan, and graduated from St. Philip Catholic Central High School. He is joined in the stands by his parents Gerard and Patrice Gausselin, along with his brother Conor.

Brendan will graduate as a fifth-year senior after being granted a medical hardship due to an injury he sustained in football. Besides being a two-year captain for the baseball program, Brendan was also a captain this year for the football team, serving as the starting quarterback, as well as serving as a President-Student Ambassador for each of the two years, being an executive member of the Sports Business Club on campus and being named MIAA Academic Honor Roll for the past three years. Over his time in the program, Gausselin has fought off hard-luck injuries to aid the Hornets at both the first and third base positions appearing in over 40 games. He has been invaluable to the team and the program with his constant example of positivity and leadership. Brendan will graduate with a degree in business and has a job working in Brand Marketing for Stryker Neurosurgical.

Today is a bittersweet day for the Hornets Baseball program as we honor these juniors and seniors and the contributions they have made in their careers. They are now being added to a long, prestigious list of alumni at Kalamazoo College.

Please join us one more time in congratulating these five on their tremendous careers and impacts upon the Kalamazoo baseball program.
