Baseball Splits Doubleheader With Park-Gilbert

TUCSON, Ariz. - The Kalamazoo College baseball team split a doubleheader with Park-Gilbert on Wednesday. The Hornets lost the first game 13-7 before winning game two 8-3.

Game One

Park-Gilbert defeated Kalamazoo 13-7 in the first game of the doubleheader. The score was tied 5-5 after two innings. Park-Gilbert put up five runs in the fourth and three in the sixth to take a 13-5 lead. Kalamazoo added two in the seventh before falling short in the comeback attempt.

Park-Gilbert had 15 hits compared to seven by Kalamazoo.

Noah Hecht doubled and had two RBIs. Tanner Hawkins also drove in two runs.

Game Two

Kalamazoo maintained a 4-3 lead after three innings before adding four runs in the bottom of the sixth to take an 8-3 win in game two.

Kalamazoo had 11 hits in the game compared to five by Park-Gilbert.

Doug Propson was 3-for-3 with a double, home run and four RBIs. 

Blake Bean and Cooper Mills each had two hits. Max Gordon also had a home run.

Adam Dorstewitz earned the win, striking out eight and walking none in four innings.
