Baseball Wins at Elmhurst

ELMHURST, Ill. - The Kalamazoo College baseball team defeated Elmhurst 4-0 in a non-conference game Wednesday at Butterfield Park.

After a scoreless first three innings, Kalamazoo scored one run in each of the next three innings before adding another run in the eighth.

The Hornets had nine hits in the game, while five pitchers combined to strike out 14 Blue Jays and limit them to just two singles, one walk and one hit batter.

Blake Bean, Doug Propson and Cooper Mills each had two hits. Max Gordon had a double.

Propson, Mills, Gordon and Tanner Hawkins each drove in a run.

Adam Dorstewitz earned the win in three innings of relief with three strikeouts. Steven Shelton struck out four in the first three innings. Braden Mussat struck out three in two innings. Thomas Sylvester and Joe Wade each struck out two in an inning of work.

Kalamazoo (16-10) returns to MIAA action on Saturday, April 30 with a doubleheader at Olivet.
