Mike Aggen
Mike Aggen
Title: Assistant Coach

Mike Aggen joined the Kalamazoo College coaching staff as an assistant in December of 2018.

Aggen graduated from Calvin College in 2006 with a bachelor’s degree in history and secondary education. He played baseball for the Knights, and Coach Ott, earning All-MIAA Second Team honors for the 2004 and 2005 seasons.

In the summer of 2006, Aggen was an assistant coach for the Orlando Hammers of the Florida Collegiate Summer League, coaching against some of the top collegiate talent in the country. He spent the 2008 season as an assistant coach at Franklin College, where his main responsibilities were catchers and outfielders for a team that made the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference tournament.

Aggen has coached extensively at the high school level in the Chicago area. From 2013 to 2015, he served as the head varsity baseball coach at Eisenhower High School in Blue Island, Illinois. He spent eight seasons as a lower level head coach and varsity assistant, including the 2017 and 2018 seasons as a varsity assistant at Kalamazoo Christian High School.

Aggen works as a special education teacher at Paw Paw High School and recently completed his master’s degree in special education at Western Michigan University. Mike lives in Kalamazoo with his wife, Katelyn, and two daughters, Ellie and Ava.
