Football defeated at No. 7 Wheaton

WHEATON, Ill. - The Kalamazoo College football team lost 60-6 at No. 7 Wheaton College on Saturday.

Kalamazoo scored its only touchdown of the game with 2:24 left in the third quarter when Zach VanFaussien connected with Anthony Giovanni on a 19-yard touchdown pass.

Van Faussien finished 9-of-11 for 66 yards while also rushing for 35 yards on six carries. 

Lorenzo Redmond led the Hornets with four catches. Seth Dexter and Mason Sarosi each had three catches for 31 yards while Collin Feilla had a pair of catches for 26 yards.

Jakob Frederick led the defense with nine total tackles. Quentin Sweeney finished with seven while Brad Popiel, BJ Smith and Cory Gensterblum each had six. Smith also had an interception return for 29 yards. Andrew Thiede recorded the only sack for the Hornets.

Kalamazoo returns to action next Saturday at Rockford College (Ill.) at 1 p.m. CT.
