Football defeated at Trine

ANGOLA, Ind. - The Kalamazoo College football team lost 42-7 at Trine University on Saturday.

The host Thunder scored on a 75-yard run and a 62-yard interception return to take a 14-0 lead late in the first quarter. Trine scored twice early in the second quarter to go up 28-0. Kalamazoo got on the board on Jared Pittman's 15-yard touchdown run with 4:59 left in the second. Trine scored again late to make it 35-7 at halftime.

Trine scored again with 9:43 left in the fourth quarter while keeping the Hornets off the scoreboard in the second half.

Jared Pittman led the Hornets with 65 yards rushing along with the touchdown run. CJ Foster added 29 yards on six carries.

Zach VanFaussien was 17-of-31 passing for 137 yards. Seth Dexter led all receivers with 77 yards on eight catches. Pittman added 41 yards on three catches.

Jakob Frederick led the Hornet defense with 17 total tackles. Clay Wilkey finished with 13.

Kalamazoo returns to action next Saturday with a Homecoming game against Adrian at 2 p.m.
