Vanderkloot named Academic All-District

KALAMAZOO, Mich. - Kalamazoo College's David Vanderkloot was selected to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District 6 Football Team on Thursday. As an Academic All-District selection, Vanderkloot advances to the national ballot for Academic All-America consideration. 

Vanderkloot, a senior from Bannockburn, Ill., has been a three year starter for the Hornets as part of the offensive line. In the classroom, he maintains a 3.93 grade point average while double majoring in religion and English and has been a three-time MIAA Honor Roll honoree.

Vanderkloot has also been heavily involved in the Kalamazoo community as a tutor/mentor with Communities in Schools, Civic Engagement Scholar, and Special Olympics and Kalamazoo Peace House volunteer. Based on his community involvement, Vanderkloot was the College's AFCA Good Works Team nominee this year.

CoSIDA District 6 includes NCAA Division III schools in Michigan, Minnesota and Wisconsin.
