Kalamazoo College's Greg Kearns was named MIAA Special Teams Player of the Week on Monday following his performance in the Hornets' 17-10 win over Alma that improved Kalamazoo's record to 7-0.
Kearns, a junior from Howell, Mich. (Howell HS), contributed five points for the Hornets on Saturday as he connected on a 42-yard field goal in the final minute of the first half to tie the game at 3-3. The kicker also converted on both of his PATs in the fourth quarter.
The award marks the second time that Kearns has been honored this season and third time in his career at Kalamazoo's kicker.
The Hornets will travel to Olivet on Saturday, Oct. 27 as they look to remain undefeated on the season. The game with the Comets is scheduled to kickoff at 1:00 p.m.
