Football Falls to Albion on Homecoming

KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College football team's Homecoming game was spoiled by Albion 49-0 Saturday afternoon at Angell Field.

The visiting Britons scored three times in the first quarter and twice in the second to take a 35-0 lead into halftime.

Albion gained 498 total yards while limiting the Hornets to 149.

Josh Nichols was 4-of-8 passing for 74 yards. Blaze Lauer was 7-of-16 for 31 yards.

Lauer led the Hornets in rushing with 35 yards on 12 carries. Sheldon Riley had 25 yards on 13 carries.

Hunter Kiesling hauled in one pass for 37 yards. Tyler Houle (21 yards), Bubba Wilson (18 yards) and Pierce Burke (12 yards) each had two receptions.

Scott Peters led the Kalamazoo defense with eight total tackles. Ryan Hanifan had seven, including one for loss and a pass breakup.

Kalamazoo is back in action next Saturday, Oct. 23 at Trine.
