Football Defeated at Adrian

ADRIAN, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College football team lost 42-17 at Adrian College Saturday evening.

Adrian led 21-0 after the first quarter and 35-3 at halftime. 

Jon Brunette scored on a 1-yard run, while Jonah Spates scored on a 38-yard reception from Dawson Skupin. Ian Burr was 2-for-2 on extra points while also making a 40-yard field goal.

Josh Nichols finished 11-for-22 passing for 83 yards. Skupin was 5-of-12 for 71 yards.

Jon Brunette was the leading rusher with 12 yards on six carries. Conner Bell had 10 yards on four carries. Skupin gained eight yards on four carries.

Jonah Spates led the receivers with five catches for 67 yards. Lance Taylor had three catches for 21 yards. Lucas Hanifan (32 yards) and Andrew Widger (21 yards) each had two catches.

Dillon Gacki led the Hornet defense with seven tackles, including two tackles for loss with a sack.

Jake Robertson, Adam Stapleton, Andrew Munger and Blake Kelsey each had six tackles. Carson Deines had five tackles with an interception.

Kalamazoo returns home to face Alma next week at Homecoming on Saturday, Oct. 22 at 2 p.m.
