Keith Garber playing basketball

ALMA, MI - The Kalamazoo College men's basketball team fell 83-68 on the road against Alma on Wednesday night. The men are now 7-11 overall and 2-5 in MIAA conference play.

Kalamazoo got beat in the first half. It only shot 36 percent and allowed Alma to shoot nearly 59. The Hornets fell behind double digits early in the first half and went into the locker room down 44-27 at halftime.

The Hornets played a pretty solid second half, but Alma's lead was too much to overcome. In the second half Kalamazoo upped its shooting percentage to nearly 54 and held Alma's to 48. Kalamazoo outscored Alma in the second half 41-39, but of course that wasn't enough to erase the 17 point deficit.

Josh Miller scored a season-high 21 points and grabbed four rebounds while Adam Peters added 19 points of his own along with seven assists and six rebounds. Peters also went 3-of-3 from downtown. Adam Dykema also broke double digits with ten points and Josh Whitney contributed five points from off of the bench.

Kalamazoo will next play Saturday, Jan. 31 at home against Albion.
