KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Kalamazoo College men's basketball team fell to the University of Chicago Saturday afternoon, 83-69, inside Anderson Athletic Center, but not without a spirited comeback effort.

After trailing the Maroons 40-31 at halftime, the Hornets tied the game back up at the 15:18 mark of the second half off 10 straight points from Josh Miller.

Despite the Hornets' effort, the Maroons' hot shooting prevailed in the end as Chicago went on an 11-0 run of its own and never trailed the rest of the way. They knocked down 7 threes in the second half, shooting 70 percent from behind the arc.

Kalamazoo's scoring output was relatively balanced throughout the game as four different players scored in double figures. Chase Baysdell led the way with 15, followed by Tanner Blyly with 13 and Miller with 12.

The Hornets shot 53 percent from the field.

Kalamazoo begins a four-game road trip this Monday when the Hornets travel to Wisconsin-Whitewater. Game time is scheduled for 4 p.m.
