Blyly scores 17 in men's basketball loss at Albion

ALBION, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College men's basketball team lost 69-65 at Albion College on Saturday.

After leading by as many as six points and trailing by as many as five, Kalamazoo took a 31-27 lead into halftime.

Kalamazoo maintained a lead in the second half until the 4:51 mark when Albion evened the score at 55-55. The Britons finally took a lead (57-55) with 3:17 remaining, but the Hornets regained the lead with 1:25 left. Albion finally took the lead for good with 37 seconds left and sank all of its free throws down the stretch to secure the win.

Kalamazoo shot 45.3 percent overall while Albion shot just 29.5 percent from the field. The Britons sank 23-of-32 free throws compared to 8-of-12 for Kalamazoo.

Tanner Blyly scored a career-high 17 points on 7-of-7 shooting with 3-of-3 from behind the arc. 

Chase Baysdell finished with 15 points and six rebounds while Jimmy Paprocki posted a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds to go with three blocked shots.

Kalamazoo returns home to face Olivet on Wednesday, Feb. 8 at 8 p.m.
