KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College men's basketball team had five players score in double figures, but fell to Hope 86-77 on Saturday afternoon at the Anderson Athletic Center.

Kalamazoo led in the opening minutes of the game before Hope narrowed the gap and the teams traded baskets for the majority of the first half. A Jimmy Paprocki offensive rebound and putback closed out the first half and gave the Hornets a 34-32 lead at halftime. 

The teams remained separated by no more than three points through the first 10 minutes of the second half before Hope went on a 10-2 run to take a 66-60 lead with six minutes remaining. Kalamazoo refused to go away, but timely three point shooting and composure at the free throw line by the Dutch kept the Hornets from closing the gap to any less than four points in the final minutes.

Both teams shot well from the floor as Kalamazoo shot 45.5 percent and had five players in double figures while Hope hit 42.4 percent of their shots and saw four players score more than 10 points.

Jeremiah Vincent scored 18 points, dished out four assists, and collected seven rebounds to lead K. Ben Reiter grabbed eight rebounds to go along with 12 points and Jack Smith provided a spark off of the bench with 13 points.

Teddy Ray scored a game-high 24 points for Hope.

Kalamazoo will travel to Olivet for a 7:30 p.m. game on Wednesday, January 10th.
