Men's Basketball defeated by Albion

Tanner Blyly playing basketball.

KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College men's basketball team came up short against Albion on Saturday afternoon, losing by a score of 68-61 at the Anderson Athletic Center.

The teams traded the lead back and forth throughout the majority of the first half as neither could pull more than two or three points clear of the other. A 7-2 run by the Britons with three minutes remaining in the half provided the first separation of the contest and sent Albion into halftime leading 35-29.

The Hornets came out strong after the break and retook the lead with 15 minutes remaining in the contest. Albion started to build a lead in the final 10 minutes of the game, but again K would not go away. The Hornets narrowed the Albion lead to just three points with 30 seconds remaining, but the Britons made their free throws as Kalamazoo attempted to extend the game and the contest finished 68-61 in favor of Albion.

Continuing its trend of balanced scoring, Kalamazoo saw four of its five starters score in double figures. Tanner Blyly led the team with 16 points in 40 minutes of action. Jimmy Paprocki had 13 points and six rebounds while Jack Smith scored a career-high 14 points for K.

Jaylin Fordham led Albion with a game-high 17 points off of the bench.

Kalamazoo will take on Calvin at home on Wednesday, January 17th at 7:30 p.m.
