Men's Basketball defeated at Alma

ALMA, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College men's basketball team lost 83-67 at Alma College on Saturday.

The score was tied 17-17 midway through the first half, but Alma outscored Kalamazoo 29-20 over the final 10 minutes to take a 46-37 lead into halftime.

Kalamazoo cut the deficit to seven at the start of the second half, but Alma quickly made it a 10-point game and the Hornets were unable to get any closer.

Alma shot 52.6 percent overall while hitting 15-of-27 3-pointers. Kalamazoo shot 36.8 percent while making 3-of-18 3's. The Hornets had one of their best shooting days at the free throw line, however, sinking 22-of-26. Kalamazoo held a 35-32 advantage in rebounds, including 11-6 on the offensive end.

Tanner Blyly led Kalamazoo with a career-high 24 points on 10-of-15 shooting with five rebounds and two assists.

Jimmy Paprocki added 22 points and five rebounds while making 6-of-7 field goals and 10-of-12 free throws.

Ben Reiter chipped in 12 points and a game-high eight rebounds while shooting 8-for-8 at the line.

Kalamazoo returns to action next Wednesday, Jan. 31 on the road at Hope College.
