Men's Basketball defeated at Hope

HOLLAND, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College men's basketball team lost 90-65 at Hope College on Wednesday.

The Hornets fell behind early and were never able to recover.

Each team shot 42.9 percent from the field, but the Flying Dutchmen had 14 extra shots and hit 16-of-39 3-pointers while the Hornets made 3-of-9 3's. Each team had 40 rebounds, with Hope holding a 12-9 edge on the offensive end.

Ben Reiter led Kalamazoo with 11 points. Merritt Hamann added 10 points with five rebounds in 21 minutes off the bench.

Tanner Blyly and Jack Smith each scored nine points while Roger Hood finished with eight.

Kalamazoo returns home to face Olivet on Saturday, Feb. 3 at 3 p.m. Alumni Day activities will also take place throughout the day.
