Men's Basketball defeated at Calvin

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College men's basketball team lost 97-72 at Calvin College on Saturday.

Kalamazoo trailed by four points (11-7) eight minutes into the game, but the host Knights used a 23-4 run over the next six minutes to take a 34-11 lead. Kalamazoo cut the deficit to 12, but entered halftime trailing by 15 (48-33).

The Hornets cut the deficit early in the second half, but never were able to get it within single digits.

Calvin shot 48.6 percent overall compared to 41.8 percent for the Hornets. The Knights held a 43-26 advantage in rebounds, including 16-7 on the offensive end.

Jimmy Paprocki led Kalamazoo with 18 points on 5-of-9 shooting while also making 8-of-9 free throws.

Jack Smith added 12 points while making 4-of-5 3-pointers.

Kalamazoo returns to action at Trine on Wednesday, Feb. 14 at 7:30 p.m.
