KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College men's basketball team defeated Concordia Chicago in its season opener Monday night by a score of 114-91.

The Hornets got out to a quick start and took a 55-46 lead into halftime. Concordia Chicago got itself back into the game early on in the second half and grabbed a four point lead just five minutes in.

Kalamazoo answered quickly with a six to zero run right after and never looked back. The Hornets outscored the Cougars by 12 in the half to seal the victory.

Sophomore guard Jeremiah Vincent led Kalamazoo with 29 points and nine rebounds. Ben Reiter added 24 points for the Hornets including four three-pointers.

Tanner Blyly scored 20 points and finished the game with five steals. Tre Humes and Bass Ollie ended with 11 and 10 points respectively. Ollie also grabbed 11 rebounds.

Tonight's 114 points was the most points scored by the Hornets since the school record (128) was set in 1977.

The Hornets will return home on Friday, Nov. 16 when they host Manchester at 7:30 p.m.
