KALAMAZOO, Mich. - Drake Thompson of the Kalamazoo College men's basketball team was honored Monday by the Athletic Leadership Council as Men's Hornet of the Week.
A freshman from Ft. Wayne, Ind. (Blackhawk Christian HS), Thompson was a force inside the paint in Kalamazoo's 74-66 win over Earlham on Thursday.
In his second career start Thompson scored seven points while pulling down a career-high eight rebounds in 18 minutes of play. He also recorded one assists, one blocked shot, and two steals.
Kalamazoo returns to action on Jan. 2 when the Hornets open MIAA play at Alma.
