Men's Golf second after opening day at Rose-Hulman

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - The Kalamazoo College men's golf team shot 301 on Saturday at the Rose-Hulman Invitational, placing the Hornets second out of 15 teams in the two-day tournament.

Mount St. Joseph shot 298 Saturday, three strokes ahead of Kalamazoo. The Hornets hold a one stroke advantage over Transylvania.

Travis Veenhuis shot a one-under 71 on Saturday to lead the field.

David Smith was second for Kalamazoo with a 73. Nick Ludka posted a 78 while Phil Ritchie shot 79.

The final day of the tournament begins at 9 a.m. Sunday.
