The Kalamazoo College men's golf team picked up an individual honor today as Nick Ludka has been named the MIAA Player of the Week.

Ludka, a senior from Saginaw, Mich. (Nouvel Catholic HS), shot a career best 69 on Saturday to lead the Hornets to a third place finish at the MIAA Jamboree at Watermark Country Club.

Along with a tie for second place finish individually, Ludka's 69 is also the second best score in Kalamazoo College history.

Ludka has been a consistent contributor for K each of his four seasons and is being recognized as MIAA Player of the Week for the first time in his career. He was named to the All-MIAA Second Team after his freshman season and the First Team following his sophomore season.

Nick has lowered his overall average score by three strokes since last season and his MIAA score by four strokes.

Coach Mitch Wilson said, "Congrats to Nick on this honor and for breaking 70 for the first time in his career at K. Nick has been working hard on his game and it is paying dividends as we head down the stretch in our fall MIAA season.  It is a delight to watch him play. I couldn't be happier for him!"

The men's golf team will wrap up its fall schedule this Friday and Saturday (Oct. 12-13) at the MIAA Fall Finish at Kaufman Golf Course.
