Nick Ludka was named Hornet of the Week on Tuesday by Kalamazoo College's Athletic Leadership Council for the third time this season and second straight week.
Ludka, a senior from Saginaw, Mich. (Nouvel Catholic HS), earned medalist honors Saturday with a two-day score of 137 (69-68). His round of 68 on Saturday is the second lowest score in school history.
Ludka was honored over the weekend with First Team All-MIAA honors as he finished the fall season with a 70.8 average in league play. The senior also earned All-MIAA honors in 2016. His scoring average this fall is now the lowest mark in school history.
Ludka was also recognized with the MIAA's Men's Golf Sportsmanship Award. He is the third Hornet to receive this honor and the first since Brad Merritt in 2012.
Kalamazoo finished the two day tournament at 577, just nine strokes out of first place. The finish qualifies the Hornets for the MIAA Spring Tournament where the winner advances to the NCAA Division III Championships.
