KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Kalamazoo College men's lacrosse team began its second season as a program Saturday afternoon as the Hornets hosted the visiting DePauw Tigers. DePauw defeated Kalamazoo, 11-1.

The Tigers struck for three goals in each of the first two quarters and held a 6-0 lead at halftime.

The Hornets got their lone goal of the game in the fourth quarter when Clapton Marquis displayed a nice individual effort and beat DePauw's Charlie Robson.

Nate Silverman made 12 saves in goal for the Hornets and Kalamazoo displayed a level of tenacity picking up 41 ground balls, the same number as DePauw.

Kalamazoo will look to break into the win column next week when Concordia-Chicago visits MacKenzie Field on March 1.
