Men's Lacrosse wins 15-3 at Oglethorpe

ATLANTA, Ga. - The Kalamazoo College men's lacrosse team improved to 2-3 on the season with a 15-3 win at Oglethorpe University Saturday.

Kalamazoo scored first, but Oglethorpe evened the score soon after and the score remained tied after the first quarter.

The Hornet offense exploded for six straight goals to start the second quarter. Oglethorpe scored two in the final minutes to trail Kalamazoo 7-3 at halftime.

Kalamazoo added four goals in the third and four in the fourth en route to the 15-3 win. The Hornets outshot the Stormy Petrels 38-31 with Kalamazoo goalkeeper Nate Silverman making 13 saves in goal in the win.

Clapton Marquis scored three goals in the first half on his way to tying the school record with five goals. Andrew Frye added three goals on just four shot attempts.

Brett Fitzgerald and Jake Bonifacio each scored a pair of goals with two assists.

Blake Beauchamp was credited with six ground balls while Zach Morales had five caused turnovers.

Kalamazoo returns to action on Tuesday, March 22 at Mount St. Joseph.
