Men's Lacrosse tripped up by Alma

KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College men's lacrosse team was defeated 10-8 by Alma at home on Saturday evening.

The Hornets exploded out of the gates in the contest, finding the back of the net six times in the first quarter will shutting out Alma to jump out to a 6-0 lead. Brandon Wright and Jack Smith each scored twice in the opening period.

Alma cut the deficit to 6-3 by halftime and then, aided by a number of K penalties, outscored Kalamazoo 6-1 in the third to complete their comeback and take a 9-7 lead into the fourth. The Hornets pulled one goal back in the fourth, but simply could not find enough offense to retake the lead.

Wright, Smith, and Harrison Ramsey each finished the game with a pair of goals for K. Zach Morales picked up four ground balls and also caused three turnovers.

Tim Grobosky played a strong game in goal for K, making 11 saves in the loss.

The Hornets will travel next to Calvin on Tuesday, April 10th for a 7 p.m. contest.
