KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College men's lacrosse team closed the season Saturday evening with a 16-1 defeat at the hands of league-leading Hope at MacKenzie Field.

The game started slowly as both teams played good defense and Hope only found the back of the net twice thanks to a number of outstanding saves by Tim Grobosky

Hope's offense exploded in the second quarter for six goals and the Dutchmen controlled the game from then on.

After six straight Hope goals to open the second half, Doug Shipp broke the goal drought for K with just over three minutes remaining in the third quarter off of an assist from Jack Smith.

Hope tacked on two more in the fourth to bring the final total to 16-1 after outshooting the Hornets 47-15.

Zach Morales led K with seven ground balls and two caused turnovers.

The Hornets finish the season 3-9 overall and 3-4 in MIAA play.
