Men's lacrosse 2021 seniors

The four seniors on the 2021 Kalamazoo College men's lacrosse team were honored prior to a home game on Saturday, April 3. Following is what was read during the ceremony:


Ladies and gentlemen, prior to today's contest, Kalamazoo College men's lacrosse would like to recognize our seniors for their dedication to the growth and success of the program. 

Wil Thomas

Wil Thomas came to Kalamazoo College from Caledonia, Michigan. A political science major with a minor in psychology, Wil's SIP topic is, "An Analysis of Institutionalized Racism Within the United States Legal System." After graduation, Wil plans to commission as a Lieutenant in the United States Air Force and pursue a law degree.

Benji Krebs

Ben Krebs came to Kalamazoo College from Saginaw, Michigan. A business major, Ben's SIP topic focused on the differences between manual machining and CNC machining, as well as improvements to machining technology. Ben studied abroad in Aberdeen, Scotland and was able to participate as a member of the University of Aberdeen's club lacrosse team while there. Away from lacrosse, Ben is a member of the Kalamazoo College Sport Business Club. After graduation, Ben plans to earn his CNC certifications and open his own machine shop.

Jack Smith

Jack Smith came to Kalamazoo College from Howell, Michigan. A business major with a psychology minor, Jack's SIP topic is "Dealership Location Studies Using Predictive Analytics." Jack's favorite memory from his study abroad experience in Quito, Ecuador is the culminating trip through the Amazon rainforest and Galapagos Islands. In addition, he would like to give a special shout-out to his study abroad host parents, Juan Jose and Margarita. Jack currently holds the lacrosse program's career records for assists and points. After graduation, Jack plans to pursue a career in marketing.

Brandon Wright

Senior captain Brandon Wright came to Kalamazoo College from Dexter, Michigan. A biology major with a minor in physics, Brandon studied abroad in Quito, Ecuador. Brandon's SIP is titled, "Assessing Antibody-Bound Capsid Stability and Localizing Epitopes Using Point Arrays for Canine Parvovirus and Human Rhinovirus-14." Off the field, Brandon has served as a student assistant in the physical virology lab, worked as a physics TA on-campus, and currently serves as a President's Student Ambassador. In the community, Brandon serves as a licensed Emergency Medical Technician for Life EMS Ambulance. Brandon currently holds the lacrosse program's career record for goals. Brandon plans to attend medical school next year.
