Men's Lacrosse Defeated by Concordia

KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College men's lacrosse team lost 9-6 to Concordia University at Angell Field on Sunday.

Kalamzoo scored the first goal of the game, but trailed 4-1 after the first quarter. The Hornets responded with the only three goals in the second quarter to take a 4-3 lead into halftime.

Kalamazoo pulled ahead 5-3 early in the third, but a pair of Concordia goals evened the score. Kalamazoo made it 6-5 with two minutes left in the third.

Concordia evened it up early in the fourth before scoring three goals in the span of a minute midway through the quarter, taking a 9-6 lead and the eventual final score.

Each team had 43 shots in the game, with Kalamazoo having a 24-15 advantage in the first half and Concordia 28-19 in the second half.

Logan Gillis scored three goals to lead the Hornets offensively. 

JJ Ohren-Hoeft led the team with seven ground balls.

Dylan Wickey made 13 saves in goal.

Kalamazoo is scheduled to play again at home on Saturday, March 5 at 12 p.m. against Augustana.
