KALAMAZOO, Mich. – In front of an enthusiastic crowd on Homecoming Saturday, the Kalamazoo College men's soccer team hoped to bring home a win against Calvin College the Hornets were unable to take down the top team in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association. The Knights defeated K, 2-0.
With the team's remaining in the balance at halftime, it wasn't until the 81st minute when Calvin made the breakthrough. Isky Van Doorne received a ball from Stephan Hooker and finished low and near post.
The Knights tacked on their second goal with one second remaining.
Possession was relatively even throughout, but Calvin held a 13-5 advantage in shots.
With the result, Kalamazoo falls to 5-3-2 in the league and will take on Trine on Oct. 19 in its next contest.
