ADRIAN, Mich. – Scoring in just the second minute of play, the Kalamazoo College men's soccer team hoped to walk away from Adrian College with three points but the Bulldogs battled back and ultimately took the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association contest, 2-1.

Kyle Hernandez continued his strong form Saturday as he got the Hornets jump started early. He headed a ball into the back of the net giving K the 1-0 lead.

Adrian leveled the score, though, just six minutes later when Dolan Bonkowski scored his fourth goal of the season.

Coming out of halftime still level, Cal Kirchen picked up his second yellow card just 53 seconds into the second half forcing Kalamazoo to play the rest of the match a man down.  Adrian's pressure ultimately broke through in the 60th minute when it took the game's definitive 2-1 lead.

The teams each recorded 11 shots in the game.

With two games remaining in the regular season, next up for Kalamazoo is a trip to Hope College on Tuesday, Oct. 25.
