ANGOLA, Ind. - The Kalamazoo College men's soccer went on the road Saturday and earned their second conference victory of the season with a 2-1 win at Trine.

The Hornets got off to a quick start as Gold Afolabi scored his first goal of the season just two minutes into the contest to give K an early lead. Ryan Melgar doubled K's advantage in the 31st minute with his team-leading third goal of the season. The Hornets carried the two goal advantage through halftime and into the second half until Mason Pelphrey found the back of the net for Trine in the 57th minute. Following the goal, Trine lost a player to a red card and K used the man advantage to help them hang onto their one goal lead for the rest of the game. Strong play by the Hornet backline closed out the match and forced Griffin Hamel into only one save as he recorded the victory in goal.

Kalamazoo will be on the road again Wednesday as they visit league-leading Calvin for a 7 p.m. kickoff.
