KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College men's soccer team defeated Trine 2-1 on Tuesday night at MacKenzie Field.

K outshot the Thunder 6-2 in the first half, but went into halftime behind after Anthony Chike gave Trine a 1-0 lead in the 38th minute as he slotted home a loose ball in the K penalty box. Kalamazoo pulled level in the 52nd minute when Tim Jeske headed in a long service from Matthew Benedettini.

The Hornets continued to put pressure on Trine's back line throughout the second half as they searched for a second goal, but it was not until the 88th minute that they finally found the breakthrough. Thomas Bryant outran two Trine defenders to receive a ball from Ben Meschke just outside of the Trine penalty area and then calmly finished past the Trine goalkeeper to give K the victory. The goal was Bryant's second of the season.

Griffin Hamel made three saves in goal for the Hornets.

Kalamazoo, which currently sits in third place in the MIAA, will return to the field on Thursday as they host Hope at 7 p.m.
