Men's Soccer Wins 4-1 at Elmhurst

ELMHURST, Ill. - The Kalamazoo College men's soccer team won 4-1 at Elmhurst College Saturday evening.

After a scoreless first half, Kalamazoo got on the board just over two minutes into the second half with a goal by Hayden Strobel (Mikey Schwartz assist). Kalamazoo then scored three goals over the course of two minutes and twenty seconds from the 64:13 mark to 66:33. Gold Afolabi, Ben Meschke and Trevor Towghi each put one in the net with Nick Kraeuter earning the assist on the final goal.

Elmhurst scored in the 89th minute to avoid the shutout.

Shots were even at three apiece in the first half, but Kalamazoo outshot Elmhurst 8-4 in the second half while converting on 50 percent of those shots.

Kalamazoo returns home to face Calvin in a non-conference contest on Wednesday, Sept. 26 at 5 p.m.
