KALAMAZOO, Mich. – Following the conclusion of the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Swimming and Diving Championships this past Saturday, Nick Polzin and Sharif Shaker were each named to the 2017 All-MIAA team.

Polzin, a senior from Grand Rapids, Mich., had his best finish at the championships in the 50 freestyle coming in second with a time of 20.89. He also ended with two other top three finishes, helping the Hornets place third in the 200 freestyle relay and third in the 200 medley relay.

Shaker, a sophomore from Castro Valley, Calif., finished as high as third with Polzin in the 200 medley relay. Individually he placed fourth twice, once in the 500 freestyle and again in the 100 backstroke.

This is the first appearance on the All-MIAA team for both Polzin and Shaker in their careers.
