KALAMAZOO, Mich. – In a release from the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association today, the Kalamazoo College men's swimming and diving team's Matt Howrey has been named to the All-MIAA team.
Howrey, a freshman from Keller, Texas, earned the recognition after an outstanding performance at the league championships. He was K's only male MIAA champion over the weekend at Calvin as he swam the 1650 freestyle in 16:20.94.
Howrey was a very versatile swimmer for the Hornets this season. He recorded the team's best times in the 1000 freestyle, 1650 freestyle, 200 IM, and 400 IM. Throughout the year he also won races in the 200 backstroke, 400 IM, 500 freestyle, 1000 freestyle, 1650 freestyle, 200 freestyle, and 200 breaststroke.
