GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College men's swimming and diving team competed in two events on the opening night of the Calvin Invitational Wednesday.

Matt Howrey finished seventh in the 1650 freestyle with a time of 16:33.47.

The 800 free relay team finished 12th with a time of 7:09.96 (Shaker, Roberts, Nerhood, Durden).

Kalamazoo is in fifth place out of six teams after the opening night. The meet continues Friday and Saturday.
