KALAMAZOO, Mich. - Matt Howrey of the Kalamazoo College men's swimming and diving team was honored Monday by the Athletic Leadership Council as Hornet of the Week. 

Howrey, a sophomore from Keller, Tx. (Keller HS), tallied a team-high 66 points for Kalamazoo at the Calvin Invite over the weekend. 

This season, Howrey ranks second in the MIAA in the 1650 Free at 16:33, third in the league in the 200 Breast at 2:07, and fourth in the MIAA in the 400 IM at 4:08. 

This marks the second time this season that Howrey has been honored by the ALC as Hornet of the Week. 

Last season, Howrey was named All-MIAA as a freshman and was the MIAA champion in the 1650 freestyle. 

The swimming and diving team will return to competition on Jan. 12, 2019 at the Wheaton Quad Meet.
