KALAMAZOO, Mich. - Matt Howrey of the Kalamazoo College men's swimming and diving team was honored as the Hornet of the Week by the Athletic Leadership Council on Tuesday.
Howrey, a sohpomore from Keller, Tx. (Keller High School), finished in second place in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:10.91 and third place in the 200 IM with a time of 2:00.93.
As a freshman, Howrey was named to the All-MIAA team and was the MIAA champion in the 1650 freestyle with a time of 16:20.94.
Howrey and the swimming and diving team are back in action next Saturday, Jan. 19 when the Hornets host Hope at 1 p.m. in the final meet at the current Kalamazoo College Natatorium.
