LAWRENCE, Kansas - Matt Howrey and Luke Durden competed at the CSCAA (College Swimming Coaches Association of America) Open Water Championships Saturday at Lone Star Lake.

Howrey completed the 5K (3.1 mile) race in 1:11.23 to finish 38th overall. Durden was 44th with a time of 1:15.08.

Kalamazoo College is scheduled to open the dual meet season Oct. 12 at Saginaw Valley State.
